Born in 1971, Hofmann discovered his love of journalism at an early date.
While still a student, he worked freelance for newspapers and television stations. As he had always been most fascinated by television, on graduating from Bonn University, where he studied politics, history and law, he went to Munich in 1998, where to start with he worked in a freelance capacity for the DSF, Sat1, and Pro7 TV stations.

He had engagements as show host, contributor and duty officer on live shows and and in programme development. In addition, he produced a wide variety of magazine formats in the USA. He always saw it as important never to confine himself to a single field, but always to be flexible. In 2002 he returned to Bonn as head of Reuter’s North Rhine Westphalia TV division. He was particularly fascinated by the variety of topics in his daily work with the two TV teams responsible for the news in NRW.

In 2008 he moved to Deutsche Telekom’s business communications division. Here´, he is regional press spokesman for Telekom topics in Hesse, Saarland, Rhineland Palatinate and North Rhine Westphalia. In addition, as a TV expert he shares responsibility for Deutsche Telekom’s film productions, and trains Deutsche Telekom staff for TV appearances.
